April 15, 2019

Exeter, NH – On Sunday March 17th, at the Rinks of Exeter, the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey (“Legends”) hosted both of the boy’s Senior All-Star Classic Hockey games.  The 12:00 pm game was for Division III players only while the 12:15 pm game featured the very best players from Division I and II and two terrific games were played in front of several hundred family and friends.

This Legends event was sponsored by New Hampshire Distributors (NHD) of Concord.  NHD also provided post-game product samples for each player from Bang (potent brain and body fuel) and Sparkling Ice.  Click to open Division III program and Division I/II program.

Participating seniors were selected by the New Hampshire High School Hockey Coaches Association.  At the conclusion of each game, a reception hosted by the Legends took place in the lobby of the Rinks of Exeter for players and their families.  All senior players were announced individually by teams and received a certificate for their selection to the Senior All-Star Classic from John Normand President of the Legends.

In addition, Normand announced the All-State selections as the players came forward.  For the ninth straight year, the Legends provided certificates for each member of the various All-State teams.  In addition, for each division, the Legends awarded certificates to the Player-of-the-Year and Coach-of-the-Year.  Those individuals were selected by the NH High School Hockey Coaches Association and those All-State certificates were mailed out Monday afternoon to the Athletic Directors.

In the Division III game, an open net goal with 4 seconds to go sealed the win for the players dressed in their team’s white jerseys 5-3 over Team Dark.  Goals against were tracked but not saves in this game.  For the winner, Mattieux Tremblay of Pembroke-Campbell started the game and let up one goal, next up was Hunter Sanders of Moultonborough-Inter Lakes and Jameson Bourque of John Stark-Hopkinton shut down the opponents in the last stanza.  For the opponents, Trent Labrecque of Berlin split the duties with Isaac Kaskinski of Monadnock-Fall Mountain and allowed three and one goal respectively.

In the Division I & II game, it went to overtime but in the end, remained tied and finished in a 5-5 draw.  Dakota Robinson of Pinkerton started in goal for Team Red and stopped all seven shots he faced, next up was Nate Pushey of Bishop Brady and Nate stopped seven of nine shots and Matt Strickland of Bishop Brady finished up, allowing three goals while stopped seven.  Leading off for Team White was Cameron Donovan of Londonderry who made four of five saves, Chris Eno of St. Thomas Aquinas made  thirteen saves while allowing four goals and Nathan Carrier of Bow stopped all eight shots he faced. Offensive highlights Team Red were provided by five players: Gennaro Marra of Pinkerton and Brendon Banks of Pinkerton; Tyler Blood of Exeter and Ryan Huppe of Exeter (along with three assists) and Cam Larivierre of Concord.  For Team White offense was provided by two goals apiece from Jack Sylvain of Bedford and Max Carpenter of Oyster River while Kambal Vaidya of Bedford had one.

2019 Supporter Campaign Begins

January 14, 2019

Our Annual Supporter’s Drive began on January 1 and continues through December 31, 2019.

Last fall we supported the Rochester Youth Hockey Association by purchasing hockey equipment for them.  Rochester had participated in our Annual Golf Classic last July with a foursome (Allen Albee, Lauren Albee, Alex Johnston, Tyler Lebsand) while Jen Lentz and her son Connor provided primary assists on our Par 3 “The Scott Citroni Hole”, raising money for their equipment.

This year, we will again select a program from submissions received by April 1.

Our effort will be in alliance with the New Hampshire Amateur Hockey Association and will be helpful to limited-income families.

HOW DO I JOIN
Joining is very easy, just fill out this 2019 Supporter Brochure and send along with a check or log onto our website, click on the Supporters tab and use your credit card. You can join annually for as little as $25 or select $50, $100 or $150 or more.

Your commitment and the support are critical to the overall success of our Annual Supporter’s Drive and help us further our mission.

Our mission is quite simple and extremely important. We celebrate and continue to support the rich history of ice hockey in New Hampshire and the continued growth of hockey in the state. Also, our support of youth, high school and prep school levels continues.

The New Hampshire Legends of Hockey is a self-governing non-profit corporation. We are a 501(c)(3) organization which means we follow IRS regulations and our tax ID is 56-2421910.

To view last year’s supporter list, click here.

On behalf of the Board of Directors we extend our profound thanks in advance.

Also, get a chance to meet Robert Sprague, who is the great-grandson of Boston clubmaker G.S. Sprague of Boston, and portrays his great-grandfather.
Robert will be stationed on Hole # 6 and you’ll have the chance to hit one of his 1912 mesh golf balls and see how well you like Mr. Sprague’s best hand-forged mashie irons “using only the best native New Hampshire hickory shafts”.

Players can also win $5,000 Cash for a Hole in One on that Hole and on Hole 16 a Hawaiian Vacation and on Hole # 4 a John Deere lawn tractor.

Even if you’re not playing, you can BUY NOW any of the items by clicking here, several have been bought already and bidding will be open tomorrow for those not sold today.

Golf Auction – Buy Now

June 21, 2018

Part of our Annual Golf Classic includes an auction for a number of great items including framed sports photographs, Sox (2018) and Bruins (2018-19) tickets as well as greens fees with carts for some of the most exclusive golf courses in the state of New Hampshire.

This year we are providing the person with the quickest reaction time an opportunity to BUY NOW rather than have the item bid at the tournament.

Any item which doesn’t sell ahead of the tournament will be auctioned the day of the tournament.

Golf Classic Deadline Nearing

June 8, 2018

Holed out: As Dave Masinick holes the birdie putt on the way to a 60, teammates from L to R celebrate: Dennis Murphy, Al Gilbert and Joe Vallieres.

Well the golf courses seem to be in great shape throughout the state and the Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals were just crowned – sadly that means hockey is over for another season.

On the other hand, that allows us to focus on golf and our upcoming thirteenth Annual Golf Classic on Friday July 13th at the Stonebridge Country Club.  The horn will sound at 10:30 am for another wonderful day of camaraderie.

While more than 100 players have registered, we still have room for a few foursomes and singles.  In addition, Sponsorships are available though the deadline of June 22nd.
