2023 Golf Classic Results
Last Friday, July 14th, the board of directors held their seventeenth NH Legends of Hockey Golf Classic at the Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown.
The event was kicked off with a message from John Normand, President of the (Legends). He thanked the players, volunteers, board members and the thirty-two generous sponsors led by long-time Gold Sponsor St. Paul’s School, along with nucar Automotive Group and The Rinks at Exeter. In addition, eighty-eight businesses and individuals donated wonderful certificates and items for our raffle and auction, all of which makes our Golf Classic the successful tournament it has become known for.

He also acknowledged the twelve Hall of Famers in attendance. Lee Blossom; Dick Boucher; Ryan Brandt; Chris Brown; Dick Dodds; Mark Evans; Rene LeClerc; Roger Letourneau; Bruce Parker; Ken McKinnon; Steve Murphy (and John Normand completes the list).
The Class of 2023 will be inducted on October 22 at Concord’s Grappone Center at the Twenty-first Legends of Hockey Induction Ceremony. Mick Mounsey will be inducted as a Player; Nelson Hutchings will be inducted as an Official and Dave Caron, Walter J. Nadeau will be inducted as Builders as is Paul Comeau, who is being inducted posthumously.

In addition, John asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of two spouses of long-time board members, Mary Ellen Gould and Virginia Martin – and to former board member Jay High who all passed since last year’s Golf Classic.
A full field of one hundred and thirty-two players had a blast and the course was once again top notch (even with the rain) led by General Manger Jason Jozokos and his entire team at Stonebridge.

Volunteers Our volunteers worked very hard all-day long keeping the registration, raffle and on course contests running smoothly. Many thanks to Matthew Murray, Sean McDonough and Chrissi Patterson of Vachon Clukay & Company PC of Manchester as well as Nancy Swenson; Joanie Vallieres; Lynda Heath; Sandy Adams and Julie Sedgwick all who worked tirelessly to ensure the re-registration and raffle ran smoothly.
And on the putting green, board members Dick Boucher, Dan Zapton and Jack Mudge led the putting contest where ultimately, Dave Kruse was crowned the champion for 2023.

In addition, on the “Scott “Ace” Citroni Hole”, Hole 4, board member Eric Swenson, HOF Jim Rivers led volunteers which included Kearsarge Youth Hockey Association (KYH) representatives Stephanie Perkins and her son Bridger. On Hole 13, board member Ray Bernard and HOF Steve Murphy along with Dara Gove and daughter Lynlee Gove (Kearsarge) also helped raised funds towards their equipment purchases.
In addition to the NH Legends of Hockey donation to KYH. The Samantha C. Smith board elected to donate $3,000 in memory of Jay High to the Kearsarge Youth Hockey program. Click here to read the full story.

2022 Golf Classic Recap
Well, last Friday the board of directors held their sixteenth NH Legends of Hockey Golf Classic on July 15 at Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown.
The event was kicked off with a message from John Normand, President of the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey (Legends). John asked to have a moment of silence and join us in remembering our Hall of Fame member(s) who have passed since our 2021 Golf Classic. Rod Blackburn, Don McKinnon, Dick Ryerson and Harvey Smith, as well as two spouses of our Hall of Fame Members……Joy Gould and Trillium Evans.
One hundred and twenty-eight players enjoyed an absolutely beautiful day, and the course was once again top notch led by General Manger Jason Jozokos and his entire team at Stonebridge.

We received thirty-two generous sponsorships lead by Title Sponsor Rink Services Group, and Gold Sponsors St. Paul’s School, Eastern Propane and Oil, nucar Automotive Group and The Rinks at Exeter. In addition, ninety-three individuals and businesses donated wonderful certificates for our raffle and auction, all of which made our Golf Classic an overwhelming success.

John acknowledged one individual from the Class of 2022 who will be inducted on October 23 at Concord’s Grappone Center at the Twentieth Legends of Hockey Induction Ceremony. With us today is Chris Brown who is being inducted as a builder, while David Flint, David Lassonde and Tom Moulton are being inducted as coaches, as is Ryan Frew, who is being inducted posthumously.

Second place was awarded to Ken Colllins, Scott Richards and Ed Staph with a 58 and third place went to Mark Evans, Allen Mason, Paul Smolak and Ricky Shelton with a 59. All terrific scores!

2022 Golf Classic Auction
Part of our Annual Golf Classic includes an auction for a number of great items including framed sports photographs and greens fees with carts for some of the most exclusive golf courses in the state of New Hampshire.
We are providing the individual with the quickest reaction time an opportunity to BUY NOW rather than have the item bid at the tournament. This auction will run to 5 PM EST on July 10th.
Any item which doesn’t sell ahead of the tournament will be auctioned the day of the tournament. Registration at the course begins at 8:45 -10:00 AM.
2022 Golf Classic
Our 16th Golf Classic will be held on Friday July 15, 2022 at the Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown, NH. Tee time begins with our usual 10:30 AM shotgun start with re-registration starting at 8:45 AM.
We will be accepting the first 132 golfers and we are anticipating a sellout! So please talk it over with your buddies and send along your registration and check(s). Hopefully we will reach that number well before the deadline of June 17, 2022.
The funds raised help us continue our mission of honoring, celebrating and preserving the rich ice hockey history in New Hampshire and to support the development of hockey throughout the Granite State.
The New Hampshire Legends of Hockey is a New Hampshire non-profit corporation and is a self-governing, 501(c)(3) organization (tax ID: 56-2421910).

2021 Golf Classic – An Overwhelming Success

Red Gendron, Seaver Peters and Dick Bradley as well as other hockey friends who have passed away. Former board members Father Robert Marchand and Paul Comeau – Paul Leonard, Leo Callahan, Ryan Frew and JM Sahr.

One hundred and twenty-eight players enjoyed a wonderful (but humid, but escaped any rain) day. We received thirty-one generous sponsorships lead by St. Paul’s School and Eastern Propane & Oil. We are back! After Covid took out the 2020 tournament, our 15th Golf Classic will be held on Friday July 16, 2021 at the Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown, NH. Tee time begins with our usual 10:30 AM shotgun start with re-registration starting at 8:45 AM.
We will be following any Covid protocols in place at that time. However, I’m sure you are all used to masks (and tired of them) as well as the 6 feet social distancing guideline if things haven’t improved further by that date.
We will be accepting the first 132 golfers and we are anticipating a sellout! So please talk it over with your buddies and send along your registration and check(S). Hopefully we will reach that number well before the deadline.

2020 Golf Classic Update

| We are experiencing unprecedented times, and the COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly every day. At this time, we are planning to have our tournament as scheduled. 2019 Golf Classic Another Overwhelming Success
Thank you to everyone that supported our Fourteenth Annual Golf Classic. Our event was held July 12 at the Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown.
The event was kicked off with a message from Jim Hayes, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey (Legends). In addition, Jim acknowledged two individual from the Class of 2019 who will be inducted October 20 at Concord’s Grappone Center at the Eighteenth Annual Legends of Hockey Induction Ceremony. With us today is Tom Carroll, New England College Men’s Hockey Coach and Denis Martin who starred at Providence College.
Others being inducted as follows: Freddy Meyer and Deron Quint are being inducted as players; Rod Ross is being inducted in the media category; and the late Downing Potter “DP” Brown is being inducted posthumously as a builder. In addition, the hockey history of the Alpine Club who competed in the Granite State Hockey League in the early to mid 60’s will be recognized.
Volunteers
Our volunteers worked very hard all-day long keeping the registration, raffle and on course contests running smoothly. Many thanks again: to Dick Boucher; Ryan Brandt; Dave Elliott; Jay High; Steve Murphy; Dick Roy; Eric Swenson; Dick Theriault; Arlene Robbins (Bob Vachon, Kathy Vachon, Monique Hopkins all of Vachon Clukay) and Jean Mathieu; Sarah Paollucci and Anne Crawford of Legacy Financial.

In addition, on the “Scott Citroni Hole”, Hole 4, board member Eric Swenson led the volunteers which included Laurel Chace and Landon Chace from the Keene Youth Hockey Association helped raise money which will be used for necessary equipment for the upcoming season. Keene also entered a team in the tournament.

For the second straight year, Legacy Financial provided three Hole In One prizes from US Hole in One. Those included $5,000 cash on # 16, a set of Callaway Irons on # 4 and Airline Tickets for two on Hole # 6. Also, North Country Tractor of Concords’ riding John Deere lawn mower for the first Hole In One on Hole # 4.

2019 Golf Classic Deadline Approaching
Well, the Stanley Cup Champion will soon be crowned, and most everyone here in northern New England are rooting hard for the B’s. However, on July 12th another Champion will be crowned, the Fourteenth Champion of the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Golf Classic.
Our Annual Golf Classic will be held at the Stonebridge Country Club on Friday July 12, 2019. Our shotgun start begins at 10:30 am, allowing you time to make an appearance at your office and join us for the beautiful weather, guaranteed!
