Zdeno Chara to Serve as Keynote Speaker at New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Manchester, NH – The New Hampshire Legends of Hockey is proud to announce that former Boston Bruins captain and Hockey Hall of Famer Zdeno Chara will serve as the keynote speaker at the organization’s 23rd Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, NH. Our keynote speaker is sponsored by New Hampshire Amateur Hockey Association.
Chara, one of the most respected defensemen in National Hockey League history, enjoyed a remarkable 24-year professional career. Standing at 6-foot-9, he remains the tallest player ever to skate in the NHL. Best known for his 14 seasons with the Boston Bruins, Chara captained the team to the 2011 Stanley Cup Championship, the franchise’s first in nearly 40 years. Over his career, he was named to six NHL All-Star Games, won the Norris Trophy in 2009 as the league’s best defenseman, and was awarded the Mark Messier Leadership Award in 2011. In 2023, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
The New Hampshire Legends of Hockey, a nonprofit organization established in 2001, is dedicated to preserving the state’s rich ice hockey history and honoring those who have made significant contributions to the game. Each fall, the organization inducts a new class into its Hall of Fame while also celebrating the sport’s impact across the Granite State.
“We are thrilled to welcome Zdeno Chara as our keynote speaker,” said Jim Hayes, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey. “His leadership, commitment, and passion for the game embody the values our Hall of Fame celebrates, and his presence will make this year’s ceremony truly memorable.”
The 2025 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 26th.
