HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2025 ANNOUNCED
The New Hampshire Legends of Hockey is pleased to announce the five inductees who will make up its 23rd Hall of Fame class.
Louis Chabot will be inducted in the Coaches Category, Chris Grassie, Tim Schaller and Paul Thompson in the Player Category and Scott Crowder in the Builder Category.
The five will be formally enshrined during a ceremony on October 26, 2025. The Induction Ceremony & Luncheon will be held at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord. In addition, the Legends will honor the hockey history of the Club National who played in the 1920’s in Nashua.

LOUIS CHABOT: Louis enjoyed twelve years of successful international coaching experience, winning his first National Championship and Magnus Cup in 1982-83 as Head Hockey Coach in Bilbao, Spain. In 1983, he appeared with Spain at the World Cup in Budapest, Hungary and followed that up with three consecutive League Championships seasons, from 1983 through 1986, as the Head Hockey Coach in Saint Gervais, France. Louis coached the Mont-Blanc Hockey Club to his fifth Magnus Cup in 1986-87 and competed at the Europa Cup in Rosenheim, Germany. Between the years of 1987 and 1993, Louis was Head Coach in Nyköping Sweden, Martigny, Switzerland and Gap, France. He was later an Associate Coach in Geneva, Switzerland for two seasons. Louis also channeled his hockey knowledge and passion into two long-standing businesses as the Owner and Director of Chabot’s Specialized Hockey Programs and Chabot Hockey LLC.
SCOTT CROWDER: Raised in Nashua New Hampshire, and former Bishop Guertin State Champion, Scott has become one of New Hampshire’s most influential hockey ambassadors. Just a year after graduating with a degree in Sport Management, Scott approached the town of Meredith to promote the launch of the New England Pond Hockey Classic. Since its inception in 2010 with 77 teams, the event has grown into the nation’s premier pond hockey tournament, drawing over 2,200 players on 275 teams competing on 26 rinks each winter. Today, through events in NH, VT, MT, and NYC, Scott has built the largest pond hockey tournament platform in North America, generating millions in economic impact and media impressions and, in doing so, has contributed to the revival of the spirit of the game and helped redefine the outdoor hockey tradition.
CHRIS GRASSIE: Chris is the product of Dover and Somersworth Youth Hockey. At Somersworth High School, Chris tallied a hundred points in three years and in his one-year, post-grad stint at Berwick Academy, he was the team’s MVP. Chris continued to build his impressive hockey resumé at the University of New Hampshire where he played four seasons from 1986 – ‘87 through 1989-90. He was captain in his Senior Year and received the Charles E. Holt Coaches Award. He also earned the Rod Langway Best Defenseman Award as a Sophomore in 1988. Chris was offered a try-out with the Winnipeg Jets but instead signed an AHL contract with the Maine Mariners, Boston Bruin’s affiliate. Chris continued his career with three years of professional hockey in the AHL and ECHL.
TIM SCHALLER: A native of Merrimack, NH, Tim played a total of 276 games in the NHL. Described as a “big center with defensive skills that teams like”, he amassed 57 points with 29 goals and 28 assists before retiring from the NHL in September 2023. During his ten-year pro career, he appeared with the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings. Tim’s NHL debut came in November 2014 with Buffalo playing the Montreal Canadiens. His first NHL goal was against the Bruins. Tim’s AHL travels took him to Rochester, Wilkes-Barre, Bakersfield and Milwaukee. Prior to his time in the Big Leagues, Tim was Merrimack Rookie of the Year, co-recipient of the Most Valuable Freshman at Providence College, Co-Captain in his Senior Year and in 2013, was named Hockey East’s Defensive Forward of the Year.
PAUL THOMPSON: Paul is from Derry, New Hampshire and played at Pinkerton Academy before joining the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs of the EJHL for two seasons in 2006–07. He picked up 113 points and scored 51 goals in 50 games and was named EJHL’s Offensive Player of the Year. At UNH, Paul was selected to the Hockey East 1st All Star Team and the NCAA East First All-American Team. He scored 57 times and earned 112 points during his time in Durham. In his Senior year, he was Hockey East Player of the Year, a Hobey Baker Award Finalist and led Hockey East in scoring. Paul is the highest scoring New Hampshire native at UNH in the past thirty years. He also led the nation in power play goals. In his thirteen pro seasons, Paul made NHL appearances with the New Jersey Devils and the Florida Panthers in addition to his time in the AHL.
